Traffic arrives. Carts do not.

The theme was built for a different shop

A bought theme is designed to demo well across a thousand businesses, which means it is optimised for none of them. Your best product ends up in the same slot as your worst.

Product pages describe instead of sell

Specification lists answer what a thing is. They do not answer the question that actually stalls the purchase, which is whether it is right for this buyer, and what happens if it is not.

You cannot see where the money is

Blended revenue hides the truth. Without product-level and channel-level margin you keep spending to acquire customers for the lines that make you the least.

Checkout leaks quietly

Abandoned carts get blamed on price. Usually it is an unexpected delivery cost, a forced account creation, or a payment method the buyer wanted and did not find.

Commerce as a system, not a storefront.

Most ecommerce work stops at the visual. A new theme goes live, the shop looks smarter, and the revenue line does roughly what it did before. That is because a store is not a brochure with a checkout bolted on. It is a sequence of decisions a buyer makes, and every one of them can be designed.

We build on Shopify by default, because for most UK brands it is the platform that gets out of the way: hosting, PCI compliance, payments and apps are solved, so the budget goes into the parts that actually move revenue. Where a business has genuinely outgrown it, or sells in a way Shopify fights, we will say so rather than force the fit.

The work covers the whole path. Category and product pages structured around objections rather than specifications. A checkout stripped of the friction that kills conversion. Post-purchase flows that turn a first order into a second. And the analytics layer underneath it, so you can finally see contribution by product and by channel, not just a blended revenue number that flatters everything equally.

The stack we build on.

We are not tied to one vendor. The platform is chosen for how you actually sell, then built properly, rather than picked first and justified afterwards.

Default

Shopify

The right answer for most UK brands. Fast to launch, cheap to run, and a payments and app ecosystem you do not have to maintain yourself.

At scale

Shopify Plus

For higher volume, multi-market or wholesale operations that need checkout customisation, scripts and more control over the buying flow.

When justified

Headless

A custom front end on Shopify's commerce engine. Genuinely faster and fully bespoke, but more to build and more to maintain, so we only recommend it when the storefront is the product.

From anywhere

Migration

WooCommerce, Magento, Wix, Squarespace or a bespoke build. Products, customers, orders and URLs moved with redirects mapped so the rankings survive the move.

Everything the store needs to earn.

Scoped to your catalogue and your margin, not sold as a fixed bundle.

Store design and build

A storefront designed around your products and your buyer, built on a theme we control rather than one we are fighting.

Product and category pages

Page templates structured to answer objections in the order buyers raise them, with photography, sizing, delivery and returns where they reduce hesitation.

Checkout and payments

Guest checkout, the payment methods your buyers expect including Apple Pay and Klarna, and delivery costs surfaced early rather than sprung at the last step.

Migration and redirects

A full move from your old platform with every URL mapped, so the search visibility you have already paid for does not reset to zero on launch day.

Email and SMS flows

Welcome, abandoned cart, browse abandonment, post-purchase and winback, written properly rather than left on the app's default template.

Commerce analytics

GA4 and server-side tracking configured for ecommerce, with contribution by product and by channel so you can see what actually makes money.

From audit to open.

Indicative. A single-catalogue store moves faster than a multi-market migration, and we scope the real dates before anything starts.

Week 1

Audit and architecture

We go through the current store, the analytics and the margin. You get the list of what is leaking, ranked by what it is costing you, plus the catalogue structure we recommend.

Week 2 to 3

Design

Home, category, product, cart and checkout designed as a sequence. You review real pages with your real products in them, not a mood board.

Week 3 to 7

Build and migrate

The store gets built, content and products moved, redirects mapped, payments and shipping configured, and the whole thing tested on real devices.

Launch and after

Open and improve

We launch, watch the funnel closely for the first weeks, and then work a continuous testing loop on the pages that carry the most revenue.

What you should expect.

A store that loads fast enough to keep mobile buyers, where most ecommerce traffic now is
Product pages that answer objections instead of listing specifications
A checkout that stops losing people over delivery cost and forced accounts
Email and SMS flows recovering orders that would otherwise have gone
Clear visibility of which products and channels actually carry your margin
A platform your team can run day to day without calling an agency to change a price

A food brand that went from a phone line to online orders.

Before you ask.

Do you only work with Shopify?

It is our default and it is right for most UK brands, but it is not a religion. We also work with Shopify Plus for higher volume and multi-market operations, and headless builds where the storefront genuinely is the product. If your business sells in a way Shopify fights, we will tell you on the call rather than sell you a migration you will regret.

Can you move us from WooCommerce or Magento?

Yes, and the part that matters most is the bit that usually gets skipped. Products, customers and order history all move, but so does every URL, mapped to a redirect so the search visibility you have already paid for carries over instead of resetting on launch day. Migrations that lose rankings almost always lost them at the redirect map.

What does an ecommerce build cost?

It depends on catalogue size, how many templates you need and whether you are migrating. A single-catalogue store on a controlled theme is a different job from a multi-market migration with wholesale pricing. We scope it on the call and put an exact figure in a written proposal, tied to a defined deliverable rather than an hourly estimate.

Will I be able to add products myself?

Yes. You get a store you actually own and can run, plus a walkthrough of the parts you will touch weekly: products, collections, pricing, stock and discounts. We are there for the structural work, not to be a gatekeeper on a price change.

How long does a Shopify build take?

Most stores run around six to eight weeks from kickoff to open, depending on catalogue size and whether product photography and copy are ready. Migrations sit at the longer end because the redirect mapping and data move deserve proper time. You get milestone dates up front and see real pages early.

What does an ecommerce agency actually do?

A good one designs and builds the store, then works on the numbers underneath it: conversion rate, average order value and repeat purchase rate. That means product page structure, checkout friction, email and SMS flows, and the analytics to show contribution by product rather than one blended revenue figure. If an ecommerce agency only ever talks about how the site looks, it is doing half the job.
